Für die Verstärkung unseres Teams suchen wir zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt für unseren Standort Berlin einen Systemingenieur, Projektleiter (m/w/d)

Ihre Aufgabe

Sie übernehmen Verantwortung für die technische Realisierung und Projektplanung von automatisierten, teilweise kundenspezifischen Oberflächenanalytiksystemen im Halbleitersegment oder der industrienahen Forschung. Diese Anlagen basieren auf modernster UHV- und Vakuumtechnologie und werden sowohl für die Forschung als auch für industrielle Produktionsumgebungen eingesetzt, einschließlich Fertigung und Integration in ISO-klassifizierten-Reinräumen.

Dies bedeutet, dass Sie im engen, partnerschaftlichen Kontakt mit unseren Kunden:

experimentelle und prozessseitige Anforderungen aus der Forschung und Halbleiterfertigung analysieren und in ein funktionales, automatisiertes Systemdesign überführen,
sich mit unserer Konstruktion und Softwareentwicklung über die technische Umsetzung (Mechanik, Steuerung, Automatisierung, Schnittstellen) abstimmen,
die planerische Verantwortung für den kompletten Systemdurchlauf übernehmen – von Spezifikation, Design-Freeze, Aufbau bis zur Endabnahme,
die technische Klärung und Dokumentation der Systemprojekte kontinuierlich vorantreiben,
die Beschaffung von Komponenten, Baugruppen und -teilen sowie Spezialmaterialien koordinieren,
die Montage und Integration der Systeme in unserer Produktion controllen, einschließlich Reinraum-Qualifizierung (ISO-5-Kompatibilität, Kontaminationskontrolle),
vor der Auslieferung umfassende Inhouse-Tests, Automations- und Funktionstests sowie Werksabnahmen (FAT) durchführen – ggf. gemeinsam mit Kunden,
die Anlagen im Kundenreinraum installieren, integrieren und in Betrieb nehmen (UHV-Systeme, Automatisierung, Schnittstellen, Sicherheits- und Prozessfreigaben),
und unsere Anwender im Umgang mit den Messsystemen schulen.

Ihr Profil

Sie haben ein natur- oder ingenieurwissenschaftliches Studium (z. B. Physik, Chemie, Materialwissenschaften, o. Ä.), idealerweise mit Promotion oder vergleichbarer Qualifikation.
Sie begeistern sich für technisch anspruchsvolle Problemstellungen, insbesondere im Bereich Oberflächenanalytik, z. B. XPS/UPS, AES oder verwandten photoelektronischen Verfahren.
Sie verfügen über fundierte Erfahrung in UHV-Technik und idealerweise erste Berührungspunkte mit Automatisierungslösungen oder integrierten Produktionssystemen.
Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Reinraumprozessen (ISO-5 oder ISO-Klassenvergleich), Kontaminationskontrolle oder Halbleiterfertigung sind ein Plus.
Sie arbeiten gerne im Team, sind selbstorganisiert, strukturiert und zielorientiert.
Weltweite Kundeneinsätze, internationale Projektabstimmung und eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit Forschungseinrichtungen und Industriekunden bereiten Ihnen Freude.
Sie sind belastbar, kommunikationsstark und treten sicher im technischen Umfeld auf.
Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift sowie interkulturelle Kompetenz runden Ihr Profil ab.
Erfahrungen im Projektmanagement (klassisch oder agil) sind von Vorteil.

Our department at our headquarters in Berlin is hiring with immediate availability for a System Engineer, Project Manager (m/f/d)

Your mission

You will take responsibility for the technical implementation and project planning of automated, partly customer-specific surface analysis systems in the semiconductor segment or industry-related research. These systems are based on state-of-the-art UHV and vacuum technology and are used both in research and in industrial production environments, including manufacturing and integration into ISO-classified cleanrooms. This means that, in close and collaborative contact with our customers, you will:

Analyze experimental and process-related requirements from research and semiconductor manufacturing and translate them into a functional, automated system design
Coordinate with our mechanical engineering and software development teams regarding technical implementation (mechanics, control, automation, interfaces)
Take on planning responsibility for the entire system process: from specification and design freeze to assembly and final acceptance
Continuously drive the technical clarification and documentation of system projects
Coordinate the procurement of components, assemblies, parts, and specialized materials
Oversee system assembly and integration in our production, including cleanroom qualification (ISO-5 compatibility, contamination control)
Conduct comprehensive in-house tests, automation and functional tests, and factory acceptance tests (FAT) prior to shipment; if necessary, together with customers
Install, integrate, and commission the systems in the customer’s cleanroom (UHV systems, automation, interfaces, safety and process approvals)
Train our users on how to operate the measurement systems

Your profile

You have a degree in natural or engineering sciences (e.g., physics, chemistry, materials science), ideally with a doctorate or comparable qualification
You are enthusiastic about technically demanding challenges, particularly in surface analysis such as XPS/UPS, AES, or related photoelectron-based methods
You have solid experience in UHV technology and ideally some initial exposure to automation solutions or integrated production systems
Experience with cleanroom processes (ISO-5 or comparable ISO classes), contamination control, or semiconductor manufacturing is an advantage
You enjoy working in a team and are self-organized, structured, and goal-oriented
You are motivated by worldwide customer assignments, international project coordination, and close collaboration with research institutions and industrial clients
You are resilient, communicative, and confident in technical environments
You have excellent spoken and written English skills as well as intercultural competence
Experience in project management (traditional or agile) is an asset
